I was recently made aware of a unique device produced by Louvolite that allows you to control your blinds, opening and shutting them, from wherever your location.
The device is a Louvolite Home Hub and it connects to your Wi Fi. Having downloaded a free easy to use app onto your smartphone, you can set up to 15 blinds that you can be activated remotely.
It can be used directly with the remote control supplied, with voice control via Amazon’s Alexa, Dot and Echo or Google Home or via the app on your smartphone. You can view your rooms via the app on your phone and control your blinds from there individually or collectively.
There are obvious privacy and security advantages allowing you to operate your blinds when you are at work or away on holiday or business.
